Curated guide

Why this version

This entry is the Game Boy Traditional Chinese release, useful if you want to confirm the platform and interface language before starting.

How to approach it

Play this in sessions: catch a few creatures, clear one gym or boss, then reorganise your team and save in-game. Keep the tab open while battling and avoid clearing site data so local saves survive.

Sources Bulbapedia

Pokemon Yellow reworks the original Kanto adventure around a starting Pikachu that follows you on the map and reacts to your progress. Encounter tables and several gym rosters differ from Red and Blue, making it the most distinct of the first-generation versions.
